If not abandoned.  Seen in a farmyard barn, the rust on that VW looks almost terminal.  It would certainly require a lot of treatment and care before a good finish could be applied.

And that poor old Renault 4 . . . it would be a great machine to have on these small lanes, although the hills (up to 18% gradient) might cause it some snags.
