A quick trip in to Thirsk, one of the many filming sites for All Creatures Great and Small and home to it’s author, James Herriot. It’s an ancient town with market rights dating back 1500 years. It is the birthplace of Thomas Lord (Lord’s Cricket Ground). And there are many knitted hanging baskets on display, presumably by the Thirsk Yarnbombers. They’re great!
