Accidental art

This week there is no special theme for Abstract Thursday, as it is the first in a new month.  Thanks as always to our regular host, Ingeborg.
This week's entry started out as part finished colouring of a pattern done by Violet.  Unfortunately there was an accident with her water bottle and this plus the entire contents of her pencil case got very wet.  We decided though that water had made the colours flow and blend in such a pleasing way that we preferred this to the original.  We have even decided that we'll l try the technique purposefully.
Having photographed the original, I took it to PS Elements where I added a reflection to double up the image, added a 'glass' filter effect to give it a hazy look and then added a frame in Phototastic collages.

In other news: hairdresser's today, had the usual 'maintenance work' done.
We voted at a local election for councillors this evening.  There were only three candidates.  Only one put out  literature.  Of the other two, there seemed to be no way to contact them and one had virtually no internet presence.  I've always felt that one should use the vote that we are given and in some cases given after a hardwon battle, but today made that challenging.
