26 Months

We are at our caravan lodge today, and it’s been a wet one.

This morning I listened to some presentations online and asked questions - I am involved in judging for some awards again this year. J enjoyed getting on with her tapestry.

This afternoon was a little bit momentous for us. Whilst the pandemic is seemingly over for many it is not for us as J is still vulnerable if she gets an infection. 1 in 27 people in the UK currently have Covid, which is a big drop from the 1 in 13 of a few weeks ago, but it’s still an uncomfortably high rate. There are in consequence lots of “normal” things that for us lie beyond the pale. So whereas I have been into supermarkets (although food shopping is still mainly an on-line thing for us) J has not been into any shop other than a pharmacy since early March 2020. On this wet afternoon we ventured into the local (and excellent) garden centre, and then the local (and equally excellent) little supermarket. We now have food.

I took this pic so J could send it to her sister. And as it’s flower Friday, it’s appropriate for today’s pic.
