Planets

We got up at 5am this morning, threw on some clothes and drove to Achilles Point to look at the rare alignment of four planets at once - from the top: Saturn, Mars, Jupiter and Venus.  They were clearly visible and shining brightly.  I wasn’t able to get a photo good enough to blip. Unfortunately, because of light pollution, it was very difficult to see the meteor shower cause by Haley’s Comet.  I did manage vaguely to see a couple of meteors.  We saw about six satellites passing overhead. It’s crowded up there!

The blip is of a huge statue of a boy in Potters Park, Auckland.  It is called “Boy Walking”. We’ve driven past it many times and I’ve always thought it would make a good blip, so today I stopped the car, hopped out and took the photo - https://ourauckland.aucklandcouncil.govt.nz/news/2019/06/boy-walking-arrives-in-potters-park/
