Fire and Water

We walked from Elaine’s through the park and the round the little lake.
Saw swans sat on their nests at different spots.
We went through a favourite would of mine that l frequently visited before Covid.
During that time it has become a fairy wood after a local resident created a fair home out of a tree stump, since then others have added to it using mostly natural materials from onsite, see extra.
We carried on to Street Lane to go get a coffee at Rand, as we approached we could see three fire engines and other emergency vehicles parked outside.
When we got there we discovered a charred and twisted coffee roaster on the pavement which had earlier ignited!
Coffee was still being served if you sat outside so we did and were entertained by watching about a dozen firefighters clearing up their equipment, see extra.
Crossed the road and walked down to the Healy and Clifford deli and purchased two rare roast beef and mustard with rocket in seeded bread sandwiches.
Carried on down to Canal Gardens where we sat in the sun and ate our picnic.
Then through Soldiers Field down to Oakwood.
I bought some wild flower seeds and a decorative milk churn for my garden.
Then back to Elaine’s after what had been a thoroughly interesting walk.
