Singing A Beaky Blinder

This cock blackbird was singing beautifully this morning from an ash tree by the farmyard. Most of our ash trees are lacking in vigour owing to ash dieback. I'm glad this one has come into fairly healthy-looking leaf.

I saw my my first cinnabar moth of 2022 hiding from the rain under a leaf. I've never seen the beetle before, it's an umbellifer longhorn. I love the mating female crane fly's green eyes. Couldn't resist posting my favourite acorn weevil again.
