It's A Minute To Midnight

The Dolgoch Disaster

Because we had an evening of watching Netflix we didn't go to bed till around 3:20am!!
We didn't wake up till 11:30am! I felt a bit rough but that soon went.
Anyway we decided to go to Dolgoch falls and we got there and walked up to the falls.
We got to the lower falls and Paula had her camera on the tripod and a cable release hooked up to it.
She bent down to her bag to get something, and the camera and tripod got pulled over as the cable caught on her trousers......yup you guessed it....I tried to grab it but failed and it hit the concrete viewing platform with a crash.
It didn't look too bad with a bit of mud on the eyepiece. Paula didn't look too bothered just carried on putting a filter on and then realised there was indeed an issue. We couldn't see anything with the electronic viewfinder and the rear screen went dark!!
Panic set in when we saw cracks through the viewfinder.
Turns out it was a cracked viewfinder. She did manage to take a couple of shots with a neutral density filter on and would you believe (when we got home they were sharp and pretty good)
Anyway the camera casing has a crack down it and its pretty much buggered.
After a bit of shock set in I rallied her round to just order another  from a shop in Cardiff. Said to her that it was still the start of a holiday and we couldn't have her with no camera. House insurance should be able to deal with it so whilst in the car park we phoned several places and she should have a new Z7ii body coming Thursday.
In four days I could write a book on whats happened so far!!!

I couldn't take photos after that as its not fair to when this has happened.
We got back to the cottage and I nipped out into the  garden to get some bug shots.
