London A-Z: Camden high Street NW1....

...Welcome to Camden Town, London's most bohemian area and a magnet for tourists.

The area is mainly aimed at the 18-30 age range and a mix between the wild colourful type and the gothic dressed from head to toe in black type or maybe get your hair done with a series of belts.

People go to Camden for 3 main reasons, (1) to shop in its indoor and outdoor markets (one of which used to be a stable) and is called the stable market. There you buy all the T-shirts, Lamps, posters, wall-art or all those previously mentioned in one place. If none of that works how about getting your picture taken dressed up as a Tudor wench (2) to socialise around the coffee bars and eat from one of the endless choices of food stall from around the world at Camden Lock, whilst sitting on a moped (even catch a barge up and down the canal) and (3) late night drinking and partying (guilty!!).

If none of that takes you fancy, go and listen to Pablo, or one of the numerous buskers (or in some cases entire bands) that appear on the streets, strut his stuff on his Stratocaster.

As I type all this I know that my mate Stuart will be crying into his (not Nero's) coffee, as he loves and misses the place so much. I can understand why.
