Allium

It’s that time of year when flowers appear unexpectedly in the garden, and this allium was a pleasant surprise when it rose up from amongst the weeds in the “rose bed”. The roses will soon be in flower in this huge bed in our garden. When we came here more than fifty years ago it was a bed of roses with bare earth between them. Now it is a chaotic mixture of plants collected over the years with very little space between them.
