These shoes are mine and they are made for walking

……the other pair are most certainly not.

Nearly 300 years separate the two pairs. Mine were made in Vietnam, as part of a production line, by machine. The rather fancy pair on display in the Burrell Museum would be made by hand with leather soles, linen uppers and a silk bow.

I know which I prefer!
