An appreciative crowd

We walked to Detling to watch Matt play cricket this afternoon, met his mum there and handed over some photos of Landon we’d brought back.

Awaiting the result. Detling had scored 179 in their allotted 40 overs with Matt being 20 not out at the end. When we left the opposition were 20 for 2.

The morning was very busy. Susan was cleaning and ironing, I went to collect some vegetable plants from the Guides plant sale, went to the post office, went shopping and cooked today and tomorrow’s dinner.

So it was pleasant to sit in the warm sunshine and enjoy the cricket. I was even given the scorebook to look after while Matt was batting. It was something I used to do every weekend when I was a lad!

We took the chance to call Chris and Landon during the tea interval. It’s been a while since Matt has seen his nephew and a while since the two brothers have spoken. A good time.

These dogs were sat in the boot of a car while their owner was playing. One seemed to be following the match, there’s less interest from the other two.

Poor Babe, in California, whose 14th birthday we marked last week has had to be taken to the emergency vets. We’re keeping our fingers crossed
