Daughters Of The King!

The ladies of FBC Pflugerville who were able to attend the Daughters of the King brunch that was provided for us by our Sister to Sister ministry this morning were blessed by the welcoming atmosphere, the beautiful and thoughtful decorations and the delicious variety of food that greeted us as we entered the MPB---and that was only the beginning of the fun and fellowship we shared around our tables as we participated in two very imaginative ice breakers.  The highlight of the morning was our speaker, Bethany Wilkinson, our new pastor's wife.  She was an articulate and interesting speaker who encouraged us as daughters of the King to
find our identity in Christ and what He was willing to do for us, rather than looking to the standards of our conflicted fallen world to find our worth and affirmation.  She was even able to give us a picture of what that can mean using the story of Cinderella.  She pointed out that while it was true that the fairy godmother's efforts got Cinderella to the ball, the effects she provided were only temporary.  But the efforts of the prince who pursued and searched diligently for her and married her changed Cinderella's life permanently.  In much the same way,Jesus was willing to pursue and search for us and establish a personal relationship with us that will last for all eternity!  I hope that you were able to be there to be inspired like I was....  Before we left the brunch, Loretta spoke to us briefly about a ministry opportunity  involving the collection of items for homeless women.  And, yes, the picture of my daughter and me was taken using the tripod and the timer function on my camera so that I could use it for Blip.....
