Farewell Porto

Train to Lisbon from Porto not until 1230 so it was a leisurely breakfast after packing.  Packing doesn't take long we are experts after all the moving around we do.  And only have a small carry on board case each plus rucksack for things like book, iPad, food and water.  Breakfast delicious, will be sorry to leave such a lovely hotel.  First though we had a walk uphill from the hotel to a lovely tree lined square with a fountain.  This area hasn't gone through any gentrification as yet so mostly locals going about their business.  got some fruit for the journey to Lisbon and then we went and sat in the lovely garden area of the hotel with our books.

The big main station of Porto is half hour walk from the hotel and it was a pleasant day so decided not to bother getting an Uber and just hoof it.  Needed to get the steps in anyway as sitting no a train for 3 hours.

Arrived at Oriente around 4 and boy it was hot in Lisbon but there was a breeze off the Tejo which helped.  We checked into the Ikonic hotel about 5 mins along from the Tivoli where I stayed with Ben in November.  We were on the 13th floor with good views over to the Oceanarium and the river.  No need to unpack, as an 7am rise tomorrow for the flight home.

Walked over to the Shopping Centre and up to the food hall for some food, good choices but stuck to chicken chips and rice!  Was pretty hungry not really ate much since breakfast.

Had a walk along the riverside which I love and then stopped for ice cream then back to the hotel.  Looking forward now to getting home and seeing all the gang.

The extra was a giant mural on our way to the station.  I wish we had as much of this street art here.
