Chill

Our long awaited spa day at Stobo castle today. We were up really early (for a Sunday!) and enjoyed the journey through the rolling Borders hills full of lambs and bright spring green grass and trees.
As usual dithered a bit about what to do first, but ended up having a pretty busy morning with aqua fit class that we both really liked (and was harder work than we expected), some time in the steam rooms, ice and showers etc, then a coffee and changed ready for Pilates. I don’t think that’s the exercise for me….too much precision, identifying muscle groups and trying to hold them in balance etc….it would need a lot of training. I suspect I haven’t the patience for that! Still, good class and I could really feel it working.
Lunch was delicious…we made the right choices of roast chicken supreme with veg, tarte tatin and lemon posset.
Afterwards we had a drink in the cocktail lounge before lying on the loungers by the pool to enjoy the views and the sunshine….ended up having a bit of a nap. We roused ourselves enough to go for our scrub and mud wrap treatment…very relaxing!…and then had another nap in the relaxation room.
Last blast in the aromatherapy steam room before we left, and we decided to have a walk down through the Japanese water gardens. Lovely! Beautiful trees, waterfalls and views across the park to the hills. A recorded some ‘mindful minute’ videos and we came close to some lambs, then we drove home.
Lovely day….nice balance of activity and relaxation and a complete change from a usual Sunday. Paisley seems to have had a good time with I who spent the day with her. I did the ironing and A did her ‘homework’ in advance of talking to AH tomorrow, then a fairly early night
