Windmill 'De Hoop', Bunschoten

'Hoop' = sounds like and means 'hope' (but can also mean 'heap')
'Bunschoten' = 'Bun-SHKHo-tun'

Another fab day for the hunt!  The windmill is close to the Town Hall, and the full name of the municipality is Bunschoten-Spakenburg, with the mill more on the Bunschoten side.  This was my first time in the area and it is a beautiful place.

A very fortunate coincidence was the fact that the mill displayed a working area inside instead of a living area, which is why there are several extras again.  This is not the first time I've seen how a mill works, but the inside of this mill is so organized and neat that it was a joy to take shots.  It's a fairly new mill -- 2008, and maybe that's the reason.

Extra 1 = the ground floor, where flour and honey are sold (I bought a jar)
Extra 2 = the first floor, where the products are weighed and bagged
Extra 3 = how a large bag or sack is filled with newly-ground flour
Extra 4 = a peek inside the bag or sack
Extra 5 = buckets of flour... including brownie mix, coconut macaroon mix, gingerbreak cake mix, buttercake mix, and rye flour
Extra 6 = boxes filled with packs of cake mix... including cranberry cake mix, lemon cake mix, chocolate hazlenut cake mix, bio-wheat flour, pancake flour, and caramel walnut cake mix
Extra 7 = one of the grinding machines
Extra 8 = not sure, but it's where various flours are mixed
Extra 9 = a set of weights and gears, forgot to ask how it works as it was busy
Extra 10 = same grinding machine as in Extra 7
Extra 11 = a 500-gr. pack of scones mix
In short, it is a fully operational traditional windmill maintained by two dedicated millers who could not hide their pride as they showed us around.  I was also allowed to go up and walk on the platform.  The vanes had been turning but the wind died down soon after, so it was fairly safe.  Of course I took some shots of the surroundings.
Extra 12 = some houses along the water

Mid-afternoon and my laundry soak was done, so a lot of hand-washed laundry which hung outside till the early evening and was almost fully dry by the time I brought it in.  AW focused on football today as it was the last day of regular competition and we know who's been promoted and demoted.  Dinner, followed by a Star Wars evening for AW and MOOCking for me.  Wetter weather predicted, but how much will depend on where one is, and our area could do with some of it.
