Mark Yonge Memorial Special

I was meant to be on the railway all day until the morning “evacuation trains” were cancelled. That left this extra train in memory of a former chairman of the railway, a long term volunteer and leading light in the Rother Valley Railway which we hope will lead us to a main line connection at Robertsbridge.

Nevertheless it was a very pleasant day with a good crowd out to remember Mark culminating in a service at Bodiam resulting in an hour delay in its return.

Thank you for all your sympathy and love over the passing of Babe on Saturday. Those of you who have lost pets know what it’s like. Your support was moving and helped Chris immensely. He was particularly moved today as this is the first day that Babe wouldn’t be under his desk while he was working.
