Light Distortion

To my eye, it seems as though the water surface curves upwards towards the top of the image. I'm not sure what causes this illusion, but I think it maybe the lighter areas at top and bottom, with the darker patch across the middle. Sort of like a shiny cylinder might appear and aided by the metallic quality of the water's colour.

First signs of reeds coming back to life.
