Baby Love

This gorgeous baby purple gallinule clambered with those huge feet over the aquatic vegetation under and close to the boardwalk. Not easy with all the vegetation to get a straight shot of it but I struck lucky. His parent presumably, wasn't far away and was preening her fabulous blue green wings in the sunshine.

More fabulous blue green in the Extra.

A great day starting with  Sweetwater Wetlands Park with Wade, Jen and Deb where we met up with Gaia's Child - Maura for our walk in the blistering  heat. It was here we saw the gallinules.

After lunch we sadly said goodbye to Maura and headed off to La Chua an old haunt for Sefferdog, and for us too where we had our first blip meet many many years ago.

Not many gators but a Snail Kite which was a first for us, so called because they eat the apple snails in the water which are huge. We at first thought it was a harrier and the cameras were in overdrive trying to get the shot of it coming and circling. Deb is posting a great shot of the  Snail Kite  and Wade, Sefferdog has posted a limpkin with two familiar but unsuspecting photographers shooting behind.

Just come back from the Sefferdogs house after pizza and lovely evening.
