House for an Art Lover

Charles Rennie Mackintosh was an renowned Glasgow architect, designer and artist.  He designed this house in 1901 for a German interior design magazine.  The entry was admired by many over the last century, and it was decided to actually build it from the competition drawings.  

It has been built in Glasgow's Bellahouston Park, completed in 1996, where it is much admired and visited.  It is very striking from outside, and inside is simply stunning.  There is a cafe, and shop, and exhibition too, and many weddings take place here.

We visited today, and sure enough a wedding was taking place, and it was lovely to watch the bridal party and the pictures being taken.  (Extra)
