World Vyshyvanka Day

The weather was, for me, spectacular. Samuel would like to go back to cold please.

The Senate overwhelmingly approved $40 B in aid to Ukraine.

Ukraine says it has liberated 23 towns and villages under Russian occupation over the past two weeks.

There is a German former chancellor, Gerhard Schroder, who is a lobbyist for Russian energy companies and a friend of Putin's. He refused to distance himself from Putin so he will lose his government funding office and government-paid staff. All of his government-paid staff quit after Russia invaded and now no new staff will be hired. The EU voted to put Mr. Schroder and other former European leaders still on Russian energy companies' payroll on future sanctions lists.

Russia is punishing its commanders. The commander of the "elite" 1st Guards TAnk Army, Lt. Gen. Serhiy Kisel, was suspended for failing to take Kharkiv. The commander of the Black Sea fleet, Vice Adm. Igor Osipov, was suspended or maybe dismissed after the sinking of the Moskva.

Boston has statues of ducklings. Make Way for Ducklings. Someone has knit them blue and yellow sweaters. Today is World Vyshyanka Day so today they work Vyshyvanka-style clothing. Vyshyvanka is traditional Ukrainian embroidered clothing.
