Around Hartsop

Todays walk started at Hartsop, climbed Hartsop Dodd (a surprisingly steep little *****. On to Stoney Cove Pike, dropped back down then up Thornthwaite Crag, (main pic) and over Gray Knotts, adding three new Wainwrights, and taking us up to 205. Much cooler than we expected, and a really keen wind, which nearly blew us both over on a couple of occasions. The descent off Stoney Cove Pike was particularly difficult, with very steep scrambles and lots of loose shale. Only 8 miles, but 2600 feet of ups! The extra shows the route, from right to left.

Hartsop Dodd: 203/214
Stoney Cove Pike: 204/214
Thornthwaite Crag: (already done)
Gray Knotts: 205/214

Nine to go!
