Newbie

Ixia paniculata, a cormous plant from South Africa where it grows in the Western Cape in damp, sandy places.   This is one of many wild species some of which are cheaply available in the UK, grown as summer bulbs.   Some are more hardy than others here, I shall certainly try this one in a sandy raised bed in the future, this being the first time I have grown it.

A quiet day, mostly at home.  A late return from Birmingham last night means I have been tired today, also sore from tweaking my back at the allotment earlier in the week.   Assorted admin attended to although progress limited by the lack of replies from people.  A ball field outing with Jamie and the dogs then home-made pizzas for three .... after I had a little snooze!
