Roses

A quick snap of the roses from Dawn, they’re a week old!

B did not sleep well last night, despite the new bed, and was definitely letting me know about it this morning! So much so I messaged Daniel and asked him to FaceTime his father and keep him talking for ten minutes, just so I could get a wash and get dressed!

More phone calls all morning and a visit for a care package assessment. A last visit from the crisis caters, they cover 72 hours and even they told B he was ‘milking it’! It’s so busy in the mornings.

Then a delivery - the first high point of the day. I have been blown away with the kindness and thoughtfulness of friends. This was from one of my team, Di had sent a beautifully wrapped box of goodies, chocolate cake, chocolate biscuits (she knows me well)! And scented candles.

My boss Robin was due mid afternoon and duly arrived. He and B have been messaging and emailing about guitars for a couple of years, always with the aim to meet up at some point. The boost for B was clear to see. They chatted and played for a couple of hours, when there was a knock on the window. Jenny had ‘popped round’ - (an hour’s drive!) with a tray full of individual home cooked meals and crumbles all ready for the freeze, including fruit crumbles for B. It was so nice to see her, it’s been ages and we could chat while the men talked guitars. It was good to see B almost normal, and the lift that company gave him was just what we both needed,

The care package assessor phoned to say she had found carers, and although we don’t really need 2 carers twice a day just yet, she said to take it as it would be easier to drop a visit than to add one on later, and we would need it in the future! B  not happy but he’s going to have to put up with it!

Testing out the baby monitors tonight, because whilst the Alexa trick worked somewhat last night, when I didn’t wake the first time he called he played a rock song at full volume and both Dog and I were scared out of lives!
