Singing sweetly

Wrens seem to have a song that is inversely proportional to their size.  Not only is it loud, but also really rather sweet with all of its trills.

The starlings having moved out now, the work of painting the house and replacing the gutters has now begun.  You may accordingly expect it to pour with rain consistently for the next few weeks.  Indeed it is now clouding over and I am just debating whether to risk the 4 mile walk to Dad's care home for today's visit or to take the car.  The forecast gives a greater than 50% chance of rain over the next 3 hours so I will probably play it safe and use the car.
