Lisbon’s Museums

Almost midnight and almost home, Mike safely back from England.
Will Blip properly tomorrow, too tired to do it after we get back…

Well, this was a phone photo, and was going to swap for a better one, but think I'll leave it. It's the archeological museum housed in the old Carmelite convent that was destroyed in the 1775 earthquake and subsequent fire, and never rebuilt - if you look up from the Rossio Square, you see the bare arches against the sky (first extra, and second extra is that square seen from up by the Convent). I've always wanted to go in, but not the sort of thing Mike enjoys, so had my chance! Again, like the National Gallery, not that impressed by the contents, but hugely impressed by the building.

And it's a good object lesson on where not to stand in the event of an earthquake (which could happen at any time in Portugal).

Final extra is some more jacaranda seen through one of the Convent's arches.

Gratefuls:
- Mike getting safely back from England, and being together again
- having a good time without him!
- us getting safely back to our home in Mourão, and the cats being OK
