A Meandering Life...

Geum 'Cooky'

Orange geums are one of the official flowers planted in Commonwealth War Grave Commission (CWGC) cemeteries.

I first noticed this back in 2009 on my first visit to the Somme and often, like last Friday, I will take images of them in front of an unknown soldier's grave.

Since then I have included geums in my gardens. This one is currently in a pot on my patio but in time will be planted out into the front garden.
