Unexpected addition

To the hedge at the end of our garden.  We have concentrated on planting 50 whips of various types, on reducing the amount of hazel, and laying what stems we've left so that they grow new branches vertically.  Oh, and trying methodically to rid the bank of the blasted bindweed.

But today's sighting of these beautiful flowers, self-seeded, was a boost.

Busy day preparing for our journey to the Welsh Borders, bound for Hay-on-Wye.  I wonder what the mask-wearing proportions will be . . .
