Grace at Sunrise..............!!

Well the forecasters finally got it right, a clear night followed by a clear morning.....

I went to work for 16-15 on Friday afternoon and worked through until 05-00 on Saturday morning, quick trip to "Micks Monster Burger Van" on top of Portsdown Hill for a well deserved cup of tea before driving down to the Eastern Road, ready for the Sunrise at 06-00.

It was a truly beautiful morning, if not a tad cold, well freezing if the truth be known, by 06-15 my hands were like blocks of ice........

Not a cloud in the sky, lots of planes at very high altitudes looking like darts as they leave their vapour trails visible for miles behind themselves.
Lots of Gulls of all shapes and sizes, screeching as them perform all sort of aerial acrobatics............

The sky just above the horizon was simpley blue at about 30 minutes before sunrise, then gradually started to transform in to a huge Kaleidoscope, striking reds, pinks, oranges and yellows, before the sun finally crested the horizon at a minutes past 6.

Frankly, it would have been a pleasure just to sit quietly and watch this spectacle, which happens every single day everywhere around the world, polar regions excluded.......we just get more than our fair share of cloud..........

And just to add icing to my cake along came Grace.......

If i'd died then, i'd have been a happy man.........

I've never seen Langstone Harbour looking so stunning.......!!
