The tadpoles have legs!

Back in March I collected some frog spawn from a pond on a Neighbours allotment and brought it home. ( Blips of 22nd and 29th March) We have kept it in two containers with some weed and changed the water regularly, with rainwater,  and fed them on peas ( this was recommended online and easy to do).  All of the small tadpoles have grown and most now have legs so I have returned them to the original pond to see if they develop into frogs. The lady who has the pond says that none of the frog spawn that I did not collect has survived so we hope she will get some frogs.

Last week I sent a few of the tadpoles into our grandchildren’s  school as when they went pond dipping they did not find any so I thought the whole class would be interested.

A nice sunny day so I cycled to Twickenham with a friend and we had a brief look round Marble Hill House which has recently reopened after a huge Lottery funded restoration and refurbishment project. Although it is run by English Heritage it is free to go in , very unusual! They are also restoring the gardens to the original plan and we saw good progress being made on the grotto.
