Damselflies at Lower Moor Nature Reserve

This morning Mr hazelh, Jackie and I set off to Lower Moor Nature Reserve, mainly in search of ducklings and cygnets. We saw a few of the latter, but only at a distance. However, the real stars of the show were the damselflies. Mr hazelh photographed this amorous pair for my journal. Like all good walks, this one ended with tea and cake in a café.

This afternoon we made an attempt to burn off the cake calories in Cirencester's open air swimming pool. We splashed around under beautiful blue skies and sunshine.

On our return to the house, Mr hazelh sunbathed/played on his computer outside, and I started repacking for the next, and final, stage of our trip.

This evening all four of us dressed up for dinner at Sam and Jack's restaurant in town. Richard's friend Lucas was virtually present at the meal in a text conversation. He served  as memory back-up for Richard when we realised that the pair of them lived 3 minutes from Mr hazelh's flat in Moseley (Birmingham) in the 1980s. One amusing story concerned that fate of a cat flung from a third floor window. Another turned into a competition over which student flat was the coldest...

Exercise today: walking and swimming.
