The Big House

Today's blip is Askernish House, it is the local "big house" although these days it is not used as the main residence of the owners but is let out as a holiday home. It dates back to 1835 and is now a listed building, it is quite impressive and has a lovely stone-walled garden but i don't think i fancy the up-keep of it in a harsh environment such as this.

The reason i'm taking photographs of the house is for my photography course - n exercise to investigate focal length. I took images using lenses with a variety of focal lengths: 17mm, 40mm, 60mm, 100mm, 200mm, 400mm and 600mm. My blip, and the photo i liked the most was taken with the lens set at 100mm

Conditions were a little challenging to say the least, apart from it being very dull and grey, leaching all colour from the landscape, the wind was gusting to over 45mph!
