A day of two halves...

...first a visit to Broughton House and Gardens in Kirkcudbright.
Both over delivered - enjoyed seeing Hornel's paintings, the house itself was interesting, and the garden was fabulous!

After lunch the walk round St Mary's Island didn't quite meet expectations - rather overgrown and enclosed in woodland. A good dog walk, but not one for views across the Solway!
A lovely day in more sunshine though :)
