"Last of the Mohicans."

Before it becomes too late.

Right up to, and including, our last visit to "Melki", properly referred to, by the purists/pedants, as "Larch Cottage Nurseries, Melkinthorpe", but less easy to say.
At said visit I saw some Daffodils still in flower.

"When Ah waz a lad~ ~ ~ "  We knew of Daffodils, Narcissus and Jonquils"
Daffs and Narcissi, we thought, were two different things, and Jonquils, a third.  Later learning that the "correct" (Gardeners Greek/Latin for daffs was Narcissus).  Recent search informs me that:-
"Narcissus is a genus of predominantly spring flowering perennial plants of the amaryllis family, Amaryllidaceae. Various common names including daffodil, narcissus, and jonquil are used to describe all or some members of the genus."
You just can't @£$%^&* win can you?

Speaking of Larch Cottage Nurseries, I was out today getting some Leek Plantlets when I saw yonder Dog, bringing back memories.

Right shape - wrong size.  Alice had a Sheltie; or again, a Shetland Sheepdog. (Dainty, and she was)  I was told she would leap, bark, and cavort as I turned into the bottom of their street in the Morris 1,000.
AND - true to her breed, if Alice and I, intentionally, drifted apart, Daint would "Round us up" - tearing madly in circles until we were close enough to satisfy her feelings of the fitness of things.

("Aren't you going to give ME some then Dad?")
