First cut

Being a Townie who has moved to the country, I didn’t realise that to cut the grass in the field takes three separate attempts.

Here is the first cut carried out by a disgruntled farmer around 20:45 (I can empathise, I can think of better things to do at that time on a Friday). We were at the cinema watching the film “King Richard” which we enjoyed, during the first cut and came home to find our beautiful grassy field had become striped.

Our neighbours have advised it’s a three day process: first cut, second cut, then the tractor ballet when they gather up the cut grass.

Cut 2 was late this afternoon and the tracts are much wider now. I’m looking forward to the ballet tomorrow - but rain is forecast.
