Tractor Ballet

Rain has been threatening to fall all day today. We’ve had a few light showers in between bright spells so we weren’t sure the ‘ballet’ would take place.

We’d just sat down to eat dinner when we heard the unmistakeable buzz of the thresher as it went past our garden. The field is so large that the collection lorries are full after only two sides have been collected and then it takes off through another field to go and be emptied, meanwhile like a member of a relay team, lorry no 2 takes its place and so the ballet continues.

The two machines travel very close together to ensure as much grass is poured into the lorry as possible. Very lethargic to watch.
