Stalling

I'm heading in that direction.  I think I'll just pause a while and let that rain cloud head on through (you can see the odd rain spot splashing down in the sky).

I was lucky - besides the horrific mogul field of freshly strewn road chippings on the very cold descent from Kirkby Stephen station, the roads were generally in good conditions and dry! I met with the leftovers of this cloud in Kettlewell with a scattering of puddles to go through and watched a few go by around me without any impact.

I fancied an easyish run home through Mallerstang, picked Fleet Moss to get myself into Wharfedale and also benefited from a tailwind until the last ten miles when it always seems to do what it fancies rather than what I'd prefer.

For a Sunday, the train and roads were pretty quiet and despite how it looks, there was actually quite a lot of sunshine around, particularly towards the end of the ride.

It was the kind of easy adventure my body and mind were much in need of.
