Jubilee window display

Back Blip for Sunday.

A lazy day at the caravan. Short morning walk then traditional Sunday lunch at the pub. Excellent as always. The beef is cooked to perfection, and huge Yorkshire puds. Also a big jug of delicious gravy.

Then called to see Liz who, along with her husband owns the little craft shop in the village.
She had just finished her Jubilee window display, and it looked wonderful, especially the large crown she had made herself.
We stopped and chatted for over an hour. Also had a good look round. So many beautiful things. Just came away with a couple of small bowls for the caravan.Hope J and G like them.

In the evening we decided to drive into Thirsk to see the new Downtown Abbey film.
The little Ritz Cinema was converted from the Mechanics Institute in 1912. Seats 180 and is run by volunteers. Probably one of Britain’s oldest operating cinemas.
It was quite a coincidence that in the film Lady Mary goes to the cinema in Thirsk. However the place where it was filmed wasn’t Thirsk but the Electric Palace Cinema in Harwich, Essex.
We both enjoyed the film. Nice and easy entertainment for a Sunday evening on holiday.

Extra photos of more Yarnbombing in Thirsk.
This time some of the hanging baskets outside the shops. They were all so clever.
