Luxury Bathroom

We made a last minute decision to take a 2 day break in SE Oklahoma as Daniel told us that was a good place to get a dark enough sky to get a good glimpse of the possible Herculid Meteor Shower. We found a beautiful cabin available for two nights right next to a river - the Glover River in the Broken Bow area of OK. We booked a cosy cabin for two, called The Romantic Retreat.
I am in the habit of rating a place by the quality of it’s restrooms, and this place passed with flying colors! A jacuzzi tub and state-of-the-art facilities with tasteful decor. The rest of this cosy cabin was perfect too, with a peaceful balcony overlooking the river with bird song as our background music during the day and insect choruses in the evening.
The meteor shower was meant to start around midnight so I went to bed early and David woke me up when it was due to begin. We put our camping chairs out in the middle of a field by the cabin and just waited, scanning the sky for the show. We saw several shooting stars but not all at once, so not sure if that was it. But it was impressive anyway to see so many stars. The fireflies, or lightening bugs gave us a good display as well!
