Colour in the rain

I'm all for public art brightening street corners and uplifting spirits, especially on rainy days like the ones we've been treated to this weekend.

Today's blip features one such corner of St Albans. In 2002 the Living Street Project gave a little bit more colour to the junction of Geraldine and Purchas Streets with a pukeko mosaic and a totara column decorated with brightly coloured tiles, like these, to match. All the work was done by kids between 9 and 10 years old from Room 4 of Shirley Primary School.
