Land's End & Porthcurno

We stopped off at Porthcurno on our way to Land's End to visit the Minack Theatre and the PK Museum of Global Communications.

The Minack is an open air theatre carved into and perched on the granite cliff face overlooking Porthcurno Bay (see the extra).  The first performance here was The Tempest in 1932.   There's an amazing story behind it all - inspirational.

The Museum of Global Communications was another great visit.  It starts with the story of the first undersea telegraph cables which were laid from the beach here in 1870.  And we walked through the 'secret' war bunkers that protected the allied war communications.

Land's End was as expected.  It's a fantastic natural environment with sweeping ocean views but somewhere down the line it was thought this isn't enough.  So there's now the Wallace and Gromit Experience, Jolly Roger 4D experience and Arthur's Quest to entertain ......... with an  abundance of fast food outlets.  We moved on quickly to do another stretch of the South West Coastal Path to Sennen Cove ...... beautiful views along the way.

We caught the bus back to Penzance from Sennen Cove.
