A distant Ailsa Craig

After the wedding yesterday we were a bit slow in getting organised this morning, but it was a beautiful day and after breakfast we sat out on the deck with some coffee, and talked over the day before.

We had a snack and then the HG drove us to Maidens, where we had coffee at The Rope Bistro, out on the deck looking out to sea.  It was so nice there we didn't want to move, but we did and walked along through the caravan park and through the woodland to the stairs going up to Culzean.  We had a wee stop there on the bench then descended to the beach and walked back to the car.  It was most pleasant and the sea was sparkling and Ailsa Craig looks fantastic out in the water.  There was a wee girl in swimming, with wet suit, and she said the water was not cold.  We used to swim when we were wee on this coast at Croy Shore, and we never noticed the cold, but I am sure we would today.

We had booked a meal at Souters so headed along there and had a really lovely meal.  I felt I had been eating for days, so ordered a started of Korean Spare Ribs, to have as my main dish.  I had never had this before, and I recommend it, it was sweet and sticky, not easy to eat, but they do give you a bowl of water to wash up afterwards.  I followed it up with some Cheesecake which I have had there before and is to die for.  We all had something different, and all enjoyed it. Bob especially enjoyed his dessert (see extra).   Dave very kindly treated us to the meal.

Then we drove back up the road and into Glasgow to Cali and Karen's house for a garden and house tour.  They have a very beautiful house and  Helen was interested to see the changes they have recently made, and also the garden as she like Cali is a keen gardener.

When we finally arrived home we were tired but happy, and managed to have a glass of wine before bed.  Such a super day .......
