Three Colours White

On This Day In History
1937: Duke Of Windsor marries American socialite

Quote Of The Day
"Perhaps one of the only positive pieces of advice that I was ever given was that supplied by an old courtier who observed: only two rules really count. Never miss an opportunity to relieve yourself; never miss a chance to sit down and rest your feet."
(Edward VIII)

You can only get that kind of sage advice with a £76.1 million annual sovereign grant. Worth every penny. Of course, this does come with an obligation to pay the rest of the sovereign's immediate and extended family a neglible salary as well, but still, what a bargain!

Anyway, here are two subjects and two citizens proudly displaying the almost completed Queen's portrait; almost completed because the scalloped borders were added after this photograph was taken to make these displays look like giant stamps. Myself, the Year Three teacher and our Teacher Assistants all worked on the Milepost Three display, plus the Year Three and Year Four children, of course, who coloured and cut out all of the flowers. To the left and right of our display are the Milepost One and the Milepost Three displays.
