God Save The Queen

Most of the shops and businesses in Kendal have decorated their windows in honour of the Platinum Jubilee. I was particularly taken with this display in the estate agent’s window as it shows a nice bit of humour. Very hard to get a decent photo without reflections, but I do recommend zooming in as best you can to look at how much attention to detail there is.
It’s been another typical Bank Holiday in the Lake District today - cold and wet! We had to go into town to do the supermarket shopping and it seemed most shops were open. M&S seem to have taken the opportunity to slap “Jubilee” branding on several fairly ordinary items, and then charge an extra couple of quid for them. We were not tempted.
We’ve not done a lot else in the last 24 hours. We went to the gym yesterday, so had a day off today. It was too wet to go and watch the beacon at the castle being lit last night, but we could see it from our bedroom window once it was alight. The only useful thing I’ve done is to book some hotels for a few days away we’re having at the end of June.
Forecast is a lot better for tomorrow, so hopefully there will be more to see and do as the Jubilee celebrations continue.
