Woody Wednesday (1st June 2022)

As intended, Woody Wednesday was mostly devoted to the Driveway Patch. The lower branches of the buddleia were pruned, in the borders grasses, weeds including bindweed and also spent flowers were removed and the yew tree was shaped and trimmed by Refna. I went around the garden and driveway pulling up bindweed and collecting cuttings into the green waste bin. I also took some photographs including this herb Bennet (geum urbanum) growing voraciously in the Front Yard, where cultivated plants and wildflowers have to co-exist.

In the afternoon I had an annual eye test in Chippenham. As this involved squirting dye into my eyes I hadn't taken cameras as the effects can last for several hours afterwards, but I did stop in Peckingell on the way home to have a late countryside picnic lunch and was able to get a shot of some buttercups there (in Extras) using my Panasonic-Leica LX100.

With thanks as always to Miranda1008 for Wild Flower Week.

Teddy Wilson Orchestra featuring Billie Holiday (vcl),. Buck Clayton (tr), Buster Bailey (clar), Lester Young (Ten sax), Teddy Wilson (pno), Freddy Green (gtr), Artie Bernstein (bass), J Jones (dr, perc)
The 1930s are somewhat under represented in these LOTDs, perhaps inevitably, but here is one that was first released in June 1937.
