Lewis got a bad case of wind today, so it was a bit of a suck-it-and-see day that began with a spin to Great Bernera to see if the Golden Eagles from last year were in the same spot (after being tipped off by our St Kilda skipper that they were back). Sadly no joy, but with the rain holding off we carried on to Bostadh beach and had a walk out onto a wee headland, collecting large pebbles, chatting with sheep, and unsuccessfully trying to spot otters.

Not long after we'd extended the spin to the RSPB reserve at Loch na Muilne (were we found out the Red-necked Phalaropes wouldn't be making an appearance for another month) the rains finally came, so it was a wet n' windy run back to Uig, where remarkably we found sunshine again. Then rain. Then sunshine. Then rain. You get the drift.

So weather for the next few days. Tomorrow generally dry, strong southerly winds; Tuesday wet and wild; Wednesday generally dry, strong southerlies; Thursday generally dry, strong westerlies. The west wind is probably 'slightly' better for the Golden Road ride, but certainly looks like only one day in the coming week (so far) that may become a 'galleries and shops' day. So there's still little cause to complain about any of the weather on this trip really.
