Life through the lens...

By ValC

High and dry.

Rain,rain,rain!
However just eased off as we got to Brancaster Staithe,Norfolk. Only one other car there after a very busy weekend.
As we were driving into Norfolk everyone else seemed to be driving out, and so it seems very quiet.
Enjoyed a delicious sandwich and pot of cockles from the Crab Hut.
Then drove on to Stiffkey and parked down by the marshes. Not many birds about today, so on to Blakeney where it was mizzling. The Jubilee street party was being held in the church hall, as it was in most other villages down here. Such a shame after three good days.

We arrived at our usual B&B and Allison had a Jubilee cream tea ready for us, which was delicious.

We were quite surprised that there wasn’t more bunting out along the coast road, especially as we are so near Sandringham.
The Blakeney Hotel didn’t even have one flag flying.

We very much enjoyed last night’s Jubilee Concert especially the lighting.
Would have been nice to see Tom Jones, and Rod Stewart singing Maggie May instead of Sweet Caroline.
However the highlight was Her Majesty the Queen having tea with Paddington Bear.
Absolutely brilliant.
Hope to see the Jubilee Pageant on Catchup when we get home.

Lastly at the end of the Platinum Jubilee Weekend I would like to say a very heartfelt ‘THANK YOU’ to Her Majesty for 70 years of devotion to her people.
