No Trifling Matter

Here is Pat’s version of the Platinum Jubilee Trifle just about to be served.

Pat is wearing her crown. She had made one for each of us. The material is recycled egg cartons and the crowns bear a resemblance to the one worn by the Statue of Liberty.

The trifle recipe had been adjusted to remove excess sugar and tweaked which resulted in a very tangy taste. Of course, it is gluten-free.

First observation from the Baker. Swiss rolls are easy to make.
Second observation. The shards projecting from the surface is white chocolate bark.

Prior to our lunch we did venture down to Princes Street Gardens and watched the free Platinum concert featuring an ethnic jazz group shown in the extra and the Marines Band.

The observation regarding Swiss rolls? Those who have watched the Bake Off programmes will be aware that several contestants have great difficulty rolling the sponge and filling to complete the roll.

After the repast we packed up and headed for ‘The Kingdom’ enjoying the very light traffic and the sunny summer evening.

I was approaching the North gate to The Policies  dragging wheelie bins to the pavement when 5 top of range Lamborghini cars tootled past at the 50 mph speed limit.

That would have been quite a photograph.
