A Day Worth Recording

Fluff

Extremely busy but extremely productive day today.

Up early (for a Sunday, 7:30) we headed off to Fowlmere nature reserve (RSPB). We're not birdwatchers in the 'twitcher' sense, but like watching birds even if our identification capability is loosely swan / goose / duck / finchysparrowy thing / pidgeon.

We saw lots of swans, geese, finchysparrowy things and pidgeons, but were really pleased to spot these hidden away in the reeds and trees. I'm practically on the ground to get this, and on manual focus as I'd been following some muntjac deer but mainly seeing the intervening branches.

As these are clearly not finchysparrowy things, we're going to plump for Greylag .

We came home via Thriplow to wander briefly around the daffodils and buy a pie for my lunch as I was immediately off to the final meeting of the accounts audit, which was successfully completed. Yay!

Then I fixed the Meeting's email.

Then home to some more serious pruning - mostly out-of-control rambling rose and ivy. Filled both our green bins and started on a neighbour's.
