A Day In The Life

Derelict

This shot satisfies “derelict” used as both a noun and an adjective! A furry gray derelict scrunched inside a derelict feeder, however, one is obviously much older than the other :) • A lovely sunny day with temps near 70F. We started our day with another breakfast picnic at the river. Joining us again was the Northern Mockingbird, a few Cedar Waxwings and a couple of Eagles. Even Stanley Sturgeon jumped for joy, several times, in fact. It’s thrilling to witness their full-bodied leap out of the water, then the full-bodied smack and big splash that follows when gravity takes over. No one knows for sure why they do this but it’s a common sight at the boat landing during warm weather • Are you familiar with the oldie “Frankie and Johnny were Sweethearts”? MrsP and I made up our own sturgeon version “Stanley and Sammy were Sweethearts”. If only we could carry a tune… • Hope y’all have enjoyed your Tuesday. Be Well and Stay Safe Out There! • Thank you to Marlieske for hosting DS!
